I would like to echo Victor's point.
Papanek is occasionally "bought up" but his work is rarely discussed in any depth, rather it's usually just a gesture towards it as some vague example of so-called social design. And Victor (Margolin) has outlined a whole range of thinkers and writers who have contributed to the field of design. And yet, too often, we fail to recognize that we have a history of thought and research. How are we to build a robust field and discipline without acknowledging (and building upon) the work that has come before?
Regards,
Carl
