I very much like this one! We design value, and not merely artifacts.
Essentially use value, and secondarily market and/or any other kind values,
that we, professional designers, expertly imbed into - add to - those
artifacts. .
Is the above what you mean by "valorisation in itself - something that gets
very little attention in Western design circles" ? "Values and more?"
'More', meaning here artifacts per se, PLUS their use process as run by
all kinds of users? An entire process of thus "Becoming - more - Human by
Design"?
And last, I fully share your concern that "it is a deep shame that our
global design community is NOT global". For quite a while now, I have been
pondering over the idea of perhaps making multi-linguism mandatory in all
21st century design teaching curricula. Thus 'adding value' as well (i.e.
"the magic answer") to the profession. But how would this be practically
feasible?
