Dear Prof. Cristiaan,
I sincerely thank you for your critical opinions which I entirely agree
with you. Based on my own experience, I do not know the situation and
reality in other countries but I do know the reality in China. The
situation is that there are more and more young graduates (they are the
majority and they are really young) who are without genuine working
experience are applying for a job. This is because after they acquired
their bachelor degree, they directly enroll into master programs, and they
usually stay with a same subject. That is the reason many of them are not
satisfied by their employers. Maybe the current situation is reversing.
On the other hand, usually, managers in most of the organizations and
companies in China have lack of aesthetic and tasteful sensibility. These
young designers either passively accept their attitudes or against them.
Without taking any business courses or enough pragmatic experience, these
young designers cannot satisfy managers' expectation. The gap between
business and design is still an issue in China now even though many MBA
students are willing to take a master degree of design or a design course.
Anyway, thank you so much for your resources. I will spend some times on
them and try to dig more useful information. Again, thanks a lot.
