This is a succinct description of the inherent and untenable conflict of interest underlying NASAD. CMU School of Design withdrew from NASAD a year or so ago because the organization was perceived as no longer advancing the practice of design. The School of Design was able to do this because it resides within a larger university - something the stand-alone art and design schools that are prevalent would find more difficult.
