Cambridgeshire.net (http://www.cambridgeshire.net) is the main community information platform for Cambridgeshire. It was developed in-house and includes local groups, courses, events and activities. All the data is crowd-sourced, moderated by staff.
The data is published as Open Data under the terms of the Open Government Licence so any third party can re-use it for whatever - typically for inclusion in other websites.
We also manage Shape Your Place (http://shapeyourplace.org) which is a Wordpress site where local residents can report issues or raise ideas about improving their neighbourhood so if you want to know what the good people of Chatteris, a small market town in Fenland, are talking about - http://chatteris.shapeyourplace.org/
Again, the site is moderated and part of the staff role is forwarding issues and ideas raised to the appropriate service provider including Councils, Police and Fire etc. for a response within 10 working days

Subject: Community Information
Good morning
I'm interested in finding out what community information databases people out there are using.
I realise that this is a dwindling commitment for some authorities and organisations but I wondered if people could help me with my investigation into what products and providers are available and whether they're any good.
Thank in advance
