Hi all,

I wanted to follow up on the next EIUG Exchange of Experience day to be held at Senate House, University of London on 19 September.

I can confirm some speakers:

  * A year with Innovative Sierra - Margaret Savage-Jones (Library Systems Manager, Wellcome Trust).
  * Ex Libris Alma at the University of East London - speakers to be confirmed from UEL.
  * Implementing an Open Source LMS for the 21st century, Kuali OLE at the University of London - speakers to be confirmed from Senate House Libraries, SOAS, and Birkbeck.

I have another possible speaker from a library now going through a traditional tendering process looking at a next-generation systems - details to follow.

This should be a fairly big EoE day and we have plenty of space so do book a ticket if you're looking at implementing a new system, curious about options for replacing your end-of-life LMS, or want to find out about what next-generation systems are like in practice.

Tickets available on our Eventbrite here: http://eiugeoe13.eventbrite.co.uk/

Thanks,

Andrew

Subject: EIUG Exchange of Experience: Next-Generation Library Systems

Hello,

The next EIUG Exchange of Experience day is about Next-Generation Library Systems and takes place on Thursday 19th September at Senate House in London.

This day is a place to learn about next-generation library systems from libraries implementing them, ask questions, and find out what other libraries are doing to replace their end-of-life library systems.

Next-generation systems typically provide platforms based on open, modern web services that replace the various legacy systems we use to manage our print and electronic collections, subscribed content, and digital assets. These systems are also known as library services platforms or library services frameworks.

We want to provide a forum for honest discussion of these new systems for the EIUG membership. This is the Exchange of Experience day for you, if you're:

· Implementing a new system at your library

· Reviewing your current library system, or thinking about doing so

· Interested in development and procurement models beyond traditional vendor solutions

· Plain curious about developments at other EIUG member sites

A full timetable with speakers is to follow. Registration will start at 9:30 with the first session at 10:00, and the day will end around 16:30. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Tickets are only available to member sites of the European Innovative Users Group (EIUG). Read more and register here: http://eiugeoe13.eventbrite.co.uk/

If you have any questions, contact Andrew Preater ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>) or me ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>).

On behalf of the EIUG Committee,
Anna Brynolf
