Many thanks to those who have already either replied directly to me or via this list to my request for information.
One question that has been asked in return is why Innovative support will carry out our upgrade rather than ourselves. The reason for this is due to our shared LMS service partnership with the Met Office our Millennium installation required a split database set up and this always causes numerous issues when upgrading / patching and therefore iii are always heavily involved in the process.
