Hi Susan,
I've worked with about a dozen or so authorities that have been thin client at one time or another. There doesn't seem to be any strong trend towards or away from them. Some libraries have moved across and some have gone back the other way. Some have evaluated it and chosen not to proceed. Unfortunately I've only been involved as a PC bookings vendor so it's all from one perspective.
Wyse Terminals are perfectly decent devices but it can be tricky getting the streaming media performance (youtube etc). Hardware acceleration can be a bugbear.
You need to check with Lorensbergs about the current state of support for various thin client operating systems. The thin client needs to be capable of automatically launching a session on boot and reconnecting on logout. Likewise you will need to check support for your chosen virtualization platform (which is probably a bigger deal).
Hope this helps.

Subject: Delivering People's Network services from Wyse terminals
Hi - We are considering the merits or otherwise of delivering People's Network services from Wyse terminals in some of our libraries - does anybody have experience of using Wyse terminals in this way that they could share? Thanks.
