Composition in the 21st Century
- Call For Papers
The Music Composition Centre (Music Department, Trinity College Dublin) in
association with the New Music Dublin Festival 2014, invites composers,
musicologists and practitioners to an International Conference entitled
Composition in the 21st Century that will take place in Dublin in March
2014 (Conference 5-7 March & New Music Dublin Festival 7-9 March).
The Conference will offer a forum to discuss aesthetic, technical,
practical and economical issues affecting composers of different musical
genres today.
Keynote speaker of the Conference will be
internationally acclaimed composer Sir Harrison Birtwistle.
Interested parties should email a proposal of 300 words max (for a paper or
a performance of 20 minutes, followed by 10 minutes of discussion) that
addresses one of the following aspects of composition:
Contemporary Composition
Contemporary Opera
Experimental Music Theatre
Improvisation
Sound Art
Mixed Media
Film Music
Electronic Music
Traditional Music
Popular Music
Writing for Amateurs
In addition, all proposals should include:
I. The full title of each paper.
II. The full name, contact details and institutional affiliation.
(If any)
III. A short curriculum vitae for all proposed speakers.
(Maximum 150 words per speaker)
