Introduction
As the spring finally arrives and organisations across the NHS settle into their new roles, The Strategic Projects Team looks towards an exciting future, one that will see us continuing to support the new organisations as they rise to the challenges facing the NHS.

National Pathology Programme expansion
From April 2013 the programme is being hosted by NHS England with Professor Sir Mike Richards, the Director for Reducing Premature Mortality as the Senior Responsible Officer and Professor Jo Martin as the National Clinical Director for the programme.

Friends and Family Regional Update
A year after the Friends and Family test was implemented in all acute trusts across the former Midlands and East, the team has been reflecting on the challenges and successes with over 350,000 patients surveyed.
"The test was implemented in an incredibly short space of time" recalls Isla Mackay, Programme Manager, "sheer determination and effort by everybody got us there on time".

We are now into the third week of The National Friends and Family Test acute overnight care and A&E data collection. Milton Keynes Community Health Services
The Strategic Projects Team has been supporting the NHS Milton Keynes and Northamptonshire cluster in a process to find a new home for the community health services provided by Milton Keynes Community Health Services.

And finally...
The team continue to support a number of other important projects including Weston Area Health NHS Trust, Bedford Hospital and George Eliot Hospital, Cambridge and Peterborough CCG in investigating procurement of community services and transformation of pathology services across the East and West Midlands and the East of England.
