If you use HDW, then one of the outputs is a map of the Jacobian determinants.
Note that HDW will be removed in SPM12 (if we ever finish it) and
replaced with the approach described in
http://www.frontiersin.org/Brain_Imaging_Methods/10.3389/fnins.2012.00197/abstract
. This should eliminate most of the time dependent asymmetries
pointed out by Michael Harms.
