Hi Tanya - in Devon we ran a membership campaign during February (to coincide with National Libraries Day).
We had two Kobo e-readers to give away - one to a new member and one for recommending a friend.
Our main focus was in using Twitter which we did throughout the month to good effect - with over 700 interactions on Twitter and over 900 people visiting our joining page.
We had 3000 new members join during February - not sure how many were recommendations - but my colleague Wendy will know.
This represented a 30% increase in membership for us.
Let me know if you need any further information.
Best wishes,
Lynda

Subject: Membership Incentives
Hi,
In Dundee we are currently looking into methods of increasing our library membership numbers by inviting existing members to encourage friends and family members to also join us. Has anyone any experience in this area or found suitable and affordable (or even free!) incentives to reward them with in return?
Any feedback will be collated and copied back to the list Kind Regards Tanya
