I just found this skull of Anatidae (probably goose), a hole in his posterior dorsal face.

I am uncertain as to the origin of this hole. The edges seem healed. Would it be a disease? Is this a manner of killing the animal? But what process would leave these "healed" traces ? may be a metal piece heated to white?!
If you have any suggestions / proposals / responses to bring me, they are welcome!
