This looks interesting and I will pick up a copy from our local newsagent and read it before commenting specifically on this.
But for those of you who are new to this type of claim, you might want to consider this particular set of claims against a background of philosophical inquiry and argument.
It might be useful to look at Gilbert Ryle's *Concept of Mind* as a starting point, and Wittgenstein's arguments in his published writings from *Philosophical Investigations* onwards. As Wittgenstein's writing can be difficult to penetrate, particularly if you do not know the arguments he was railing against, including at times his own earlier work, it might be worth starting with some of the many glosses or biographies about him.
I particularly liked Ray Monk's biography because of the way he places Wittgenstein's arguments within the historical context in which he lived. It is also a sympathetic account of someone who by all accounts was a difficult person.
