OCLC invites you to join representatives from Kent, Cheshire and Solihull libraries, as well as Bookmark Your Library, and discover how the Enquire, virtual reference service, is already being used to power exciting new initiatives aligned to the ‘Information and Digital Offers’ recently announced by The Society of Chief Librarians in conjunction with the Arts Council England and The Reading Agency.
In this free to attend online information session, hosted by OCLC, Elisabeth Robinson talks about working with these same partners in the development of bookmarkyourlibrary.org.uk, and discusses the crucial role that Enquire plays in enabling the service to provide users with a 24/7 public library virtual presence.
Christel Pobgee, Information Services and Digital Inclusion Manager at Kent Libraries, Registration & Archives and Niall Rowe, Systems Librarian, at Cheshire Libraries, will then go on to share some best practices in widening use of Enquire to offer better local services, helping citizens access information online in critical areas such as job seeking, health, finance and education.
Wrapping up the session David Gill, Heritage, Information and Virtual Services Manager, Solihull libraries, demonstrates the successes his authority has had in using Enquire, and explains that it is the collaborative nature of the service and the technology powering it, that makes it possible and affordable to be able to offer communities and users the kinds of services they expect from public libraries in the digital age.
