Dear Claire,
here at Bern university library, we recently decided to start recording e-ressources compatibility issues:
* compatibility of e-content with a range of platforms - Mac, Linux, Windows, iOS, Android
* compatibility of e-content with local standard configurations, such as staff/student computers and library thin clients, to help identify missing plug-ins or viewer software
* compatibility of e-content with other software, e.g. reference management packages
We realise that only a collaborative effort between subject librarians, institutional librarians, e-library, IT and systems staff is likely to bring together the wide range of information we need to collect and constantly update, and that a wiki will be the most versatile tool to store this information. With your suggestion of a collaboration between several organisations, you are already one step ahead… Have others expressed an interest in participating? I think we'd be interested!
Best regards
Gerhard

Dear All
I was wondering whether anyone is routinely assessing third party licensed content for its usability on mobile devices? If you are, would you be willing to share your method and / or some of your results?
We would ideally like to 'kite mark' content for its mobile device compatibility because we are aware of a fast-growing demand from library users for this type of access. I appreciate that there are hundreds of different devices but we would probably just choose a few of the main ones to test with. Even this is a mammoth task so would anyone be prepared to work collaboratively on a pilot to at least start something off?
If so, please contact me.
Kind regards
