Metamorphism at Goldschmidt 2013
Workshop on “Applying Phase Equilibria Modelling to Rocks”
This workshop on applying phase equilibria modelling to rocks is for
metamorphic geologists who already have some experience of using phase
equilibria calculation software. The focus will be on methodological
aspects, with presentations on Day 1 by Professors Roger Powell
(University of Melbourne, Australia) and Richard White (University of
Mainz, Germany), and possibly others. Day 2 will comprise short oral
presentations and posters that showcase studies addressing particular
problems. Further information is available at:

Session 06g on “Quantification of metamorphic processes and the
thermo-tectonic evolution of orogens”
This interdisciplinary session seeks contributions from petrology
(including microstructures), experiments, phase equilibria modelling,
geochemistry, geochronology, microtectonics and numerical modelling that
specifically address the quantification of metamorphic processes and the
thermo-tectonic evolution of orogens. Further information is available at:

Deadlines
The abstract submission [2] and registration pages [3] for
Goldschmidt2013 are now all live. Abstract submission will remain open
until April 12 (23:59 UTC) and early registration will end on June 25th.
Abstracts
Each delegate may submit one abstract as presenting author; keynote
speakers alone of these delegates may submit two abstracts. Abstracts
should be completed on the templates provided, and should be no longer
than a single column if they are to be accepted. Full instructions on
how to submit an abstract are available on the website at:
http://goldschmidt.info/2013/abstracts/instructions
Registration
Registration for Goldschmidt2013 is now open. Further information is
available at:

Workshop registration
Registration for the workshop on “Applying Phase Equilibria Modelling to
Rocks will be via the Goldschmidt2013 web site and will remain open
until June 25th. Further information is available at:

Contributions are invited for presentation on Day 2, these should be
submitted directly to the workshop co-conveners (Michael Brown <mbrown
at umd.edu> and Bernardo Cesare <bernardo.cesare at unipd.it>. Topics
selected for oral presentation on Day 2 will be those that showcase
studies addressing particular problems.
