Please see below details of a new two year post at the Institute for Transport Studies, University of Leeds.
Research Fellow or Senior Research Fellow - Transport Economics and Modelling
Fixed term for 2 years from Spring 2013
We are seeking to recruit a member of research staff with a demonstrated academic/analytical track record and much further potential, to join our economics and discrete choice modelling team. You will be an important addition to our team of economists working on modelling of transport-related behaviour and market demand, in order to support our growing portfolio of research projects in this field.
You will be involved in the 'ecoDriver' project, a major research project led by ITS and being conducted in collaboration with other European universities and participants from the automotive industry (http://www.ecodriver-project.eu/). Within this project, you will work with ITS colleagues to develop a model forecasting the take-up of eco-driving technologies by consumers, and their deployment in the European vehicle fleet. You will be involved in the core research activities - literature review, collection and analysis of data, modelling and reporting results. You will prepare results for publication and for presentation at national and international conferences, and will pursue high quality published outputs. As a member of ITS you will be actively encouraged to develop your own research interests; and to use initiative and creativity in developing the research portfolio of the Institute.
This post presents an excellent opportunity to develop skills and expertise in modelling and economic analysis in the transport sector, within an internationally-leading research group. Moreover, the post offers the opportunity to supervise postgraduate student research projects related to the role, and to contribute to relevant teaching activities, as appropriate.
You will have an honours degree economics or a related discipline and completed, or near completion of a PhD, or equivalent level of expertise, in transport economics or a related discipline. Experience in designing and performing experiments/collecting data as well as the ability to undertake statistical analysis independently is essential.
University Grade 7 (£30,424 - £36,298 p.a.) or University Grade 8 (£37,382 - £44,607 p.a.)
