NEW FUELS, NEW RULES?
ONLINE QUESTIONNAIRE CLOSING DATE 30TH JANUARY
New Fuels, New Rules? is an interdisciplinary exploration into the impact of low carbon passenger vehicles on society. This project consists of a questionnaire and a workshop, and aims to bring together the understanding of experts involved in the development and implementation of a low carbon vehicle fleet, by opening a dialogue between the disciplines of vehicle technology, transport policy and applied ethics, all of which must work together in order to secure a sustainable low carbon vehicle market.
The questionnaire is aimed at those with experience in the field of low carbon vehicles and/or a broad knowledge of technologies and policies, and collates:
• Opinion on conflicting attributes and vulnerabilities of car ownership.
• Judgment on the impact low carbon vehicle policies will have on car ownership. The results will be used to assign inequality impact indicators of low carbon vehicle policies.
It should take less than 30 minutes to complete and is available online at www.survey.leeds.ac.uk/nfnr
PLEASE NOTE: the questionnaire deadline was extended so some questions refer to the workshop which has already taken place. This does not affect the overall intended outputs of the questionnaire.
The workshop took place in september and proceedings are available at http://www.engineering.leeds.ac.uk/dtc-low-carbon-technologies/news-events/2010/TransportandEthicsWorkshop.shtml

This work was mentioned in my paper at the UTSG Conference last week, ‘Disproportional impacts of the introduction of low carbon vehicles: a modelling and ethical approach’.
