Abstract
The Lloyd's Register Educational Trust (The LRET) in collaboration with the University of Southampton held its annual research collegium: For eight weeks, five multi-disciplinary groups of five designed engineering systems that address the economical, logistical, environmental, geo-political and legal-social challenges of "seabed exploitation".
Dr Nicole Kudla was a member of the winning team of the research collegium 2012. In the lecture she will present the results of the team's research entitled "Sustainable Seabed Mining: Guidelines and a new Concept for Atlantis II Deep". She will focus on the logistics and supply chain challenges of seabed mining and give insights into the unique research experience offered by the collegium.
The lecture is of interest to anyone who wants to know about the current state of seabed mining from a systems engineering perspective. It is also of interest to post-doctoral researchers and PhD students who wish to develop their careers by attending the LRET research collegium 2013.
About the Speaker

Next CTS Seminar
Dr Biying Yu (visiting researcher at the UCL Energy Institute ) will be leading a seminar titled “Identifying the direct and indirect rebound effects for household energy consumption behaviour” at Imperial College on Wednesday 23 January @ 17:00
About the CTS Seminar Series
The CTS seminar series aims to facilitate discussion on current research topics in the transport field. Seminars are held jointly with our colleagues in the Centre for Transport Studies at University College London. They are usually held on Wednesday afternoons at Imperial College London or University College London.
Seminars are free of charge and open to all interested parties. Booking is not required.
