Hi Chelsea
We insist that teachers give us 2 weeks' notice at all times for online bookings. Although they are on demand we have set periods throughout the year when we do bulk FS exams i.e. December was Reading, early February is Reading re-sits, early March is Maths, end of March is Writing and then we have re-sits for Maths and Writing in April and then May and June is re-sits of re-sits!!!
We have some issues when learners need to be in separate rooms because of the need for a scribe / reader because basically we don't have any spare rooms. What we have to do is to schedule students with Access Arrangements at a different time and date to the main group of students.
We're pretty lucky as we have 4 online testing rooms (2 at each site) with 20 pcs per room and a timetable for each room that Exams manage plus we also run tests from 5pm for a couple of hours if absolutely necessary to fit them all in.
Regards
Kate

Subject: Online testing
Hello everyone,
I hope you are all well on this rather grim old morning! This is my first post on the network so I would be grateful for any feedback.
We are a vocational college and it is now very apparent that due to lack of staff our online, on demand testing procedures need tightening up (a bit too on demand at the mo) and I was wondering what notice your tutors are required to give you for scheduling online tests?
Also, do you have trouble accommodating access arrangements for these tests? We are averaging two learners out of a class who need a reader (in some it can be 6).
We are also struggling with re-sits, at the moment our learners have 3 attempts but this is becoming increasingly difficult to keep track of. If anyone has an effective online re-sit policy, or tips - that would be really helpful?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks,
Chelsea
