This event gives an opportunity for aspects of music provision, particularly relevant to the public library sector, to be discussed
At this stage of the planning only a Draft Programme is available. Proposed content includes -
Report and Information session. Please bring news items – what’s happening in your music library or music section (New Libraries – Manchester, Birmingham)
The future of recorded music provision in public libraries (chaired by Frances Metcalfe, Kent Libraries and IAML Executive Committee)
Music Hubs and Public Libraries (Chair, Ros Edwards Henry Watson Music Library) - we plan to invite a representative from one of the local music hubs to talk to us about their role
If you have any other suggestions regarding content please let me know as there is still capacity in the programme for additional content. A firm programme will be posted in due course.
In order to continue to keep costs down the seminar will be free with a 1.00pm start.
New this year – The seminar is being held in conjunction with the IAML (UK & Irl) Annual Study Weekend and will take place on the afternoon prior to the ASW commencing. Why not use this as an opportunity to attend all or part of the ASW as you can save on travel expenses. If you work outside the public library sector but would still like to attend Music in Public Libraries seminar please contact me regarding capacity – priority will be given to those from the public library sector. Of course, you can book just for the Music in Public Libraries seminar if this is more suitable.
Details of the programme for the IAML (UK & Irl) Annual Study Weekend together with Booking Form for the ASW can be found here - http://www.iaml.info/iaml-uk-irl/training/asw.html
