The Reid School of Music at Edinburgh University has one AHRC award available for PhD study in musicology to commence in September 2013. This scholarship will cover fees and maintenance for UK students or fees only for EU students. We expect to make a further announcement regarding internal scholarships for PhD study shortly.
Application details for the AHRC scholarship can be found here:

We would particularly welcome applications for research in the following areas:
- Theory, history and analysis of film music and sound, and audiovisual media more generally;
- Music and Society in Renaissance Italy or in Reformation Scotland;
- Music in 18th-century Edinburgh;
- Music in 19th and 20th-century Germany;
- Music in Cold War and post-Cold War contexts.
Other areas that fall within the remit of staff research interests will also be considered.
The deadline for consideration of AHRC scholarship applications is 12 April 2013. Applicants are advised, however, that they must first have applied via the University online applications system (EUCLID), and hold an offer of admission to be considered for an AHRC award.
