Dear All,
Some of you may be familiar with the PROSPERO initiative. It is a UK National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) funded international prospective register of systematic reviews (run by the University of York).
In brief the goal is to prospectively register all systematic reviews under way so as to enable us all to know who is doing what, plus to reduce duplication of work. You can read more about PROSPERO on their website:
http://www.crd.york.ac.uk/PROSPERO/
Registration is free and I am mentioning them now as I have been in communication with them to ask if they are interested in registering ANY review method types - e.g. realist reviews. Their reply was that they are, "... taking a pragmatic approach to acceptance of submissions which have not yet formally been specified as meeting our inclusion criteria, but which meet the long term aspiration for PROSPERO."
I have been told that they will consider any submission:
- as long as the review has a health related focus (outcome)
AND
- you are able to complete form (including all the obligatory fields marked with an asterisk)
So if you are undertaking a realist or meta-narrative review, do please consider registering your review with them.
Thanks for reading.
Geoff
