I'm pleased to share an eight-minute animated video that introduces Evidence-Based Design for public policy, programming and projects.
https://vimeo.com/53924981
It is a companion piece to A Framework Document for Evidence-Based Programme Design for Reintegration, produced in support of the UN's Inter-Agency Working Group for Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration of Excombatants. The paper is available for download on Academia.edu (as well as UNIDIR's own website) at:

Our team has recently returned from Somalia and Kenya where we are working with UN field staff to better understanding the organizational, political, and procedural challenges associated with designing programmes with evidence so that we can build new solutions for for introducing EBD processes into their daily work. The Policy Lab and UNIDIR are leading on the conceptual framework and relevant methods for introducing EBD into UN operational planning, and we are working closely with live|work, the service design firm, to turn these methods into tools that can assist programming itself.
