I have just finished reading the same, and I wish to publicly thank you for
pointing me at this little 150 page "jewel". Though I didn't find in it
much of insights related to my concern on the concept of 'Utility' and
Design, nevertheless Heskett's "fast and brief historical perspective" is
really well rendered: accessible, concise, thoughtful, and enlightening in
all 7 chapters on Design of Objects, Communications, Environments,
Identities, Systems, Contexts, and Futures.
I wholeheartedly concur, highly recommended to all!
Many thanks once more !
