On 26 January 1426, by letters patent, the Bishop of Winchester annexed
the church of Walesworth to the church of Widley. “The Church of
Walesworth, until it can be adequately repaired, or its site if it has
fallen into ruin, is to be surrounded with a wall or hedge and protected
from any profane or secular use, in memory of its previous consecration.”
