We’ll expect you to lead from the front and ensure that our content, tools and services are clinically focussed, rigorous and meet clinicians’ requirements. Deputising for the Clinical Director of the BMJ Evidence Centre as necessary, you will lead a team of clinicians and work closely in our matrix structure with information specialists, digital production and business development teams responsible for existing and new business. The role will involve developing an in-depth knowledge of all Evidence Centre products and the processes which create them to impact our senior management meetings and support the timely, on-budget delivery of projects.
Holding a medical degree, ideally holding postgraduate qualifications and currently active in clinical practice you will have considerable experience with evidence-based medicine and display a broad understanding and appreciation of the need for evidence across healthcare. You should be able to critically appraise published evidence and your strong editorial skills will show an ability to deliver high-quality work to deadline. A strong clinical orientation plus a pragmatic and innovative approach will be important, and a deep understanding of how to move closer to meeting the needs of clinicians at the point of care is vital. We will encourage you to maintain a part time clinical commitment to ensure that our services remain relevant and incisive.
