CALL FOR PAPERS
THE GEOLOGICAL SOCIETY OF LONDON's
HIGHER EDUCATION NETWORK
ANNUAL MEETING
16th January 2013, at The British Geological Survey, Keyworth
9.30 am – 4:30 pm
Supported by: The British Geological Survey
The Higher Education Academy
This meeting aims to provide a forum for lively, informed debate between teachers, students, practitioners, employers and other stakeholders on higher education in the GEES disciplines. We welcome contributions on any aspect of GEES higher education, including:
• discussions and demonstrations of new technologies
• fresh approaches to teaching and learning
• evaluations and examinations of existing pedagogy
• insights from teaching experiences
• reports on, and feedback from, ongoing projects
• innovative solutions for teaching in a shifting educational climate
• employability
Contributions
We invite contributions on all aspects of teaching and learning in the Geographical, Earth and Environmental Sciences, as well as ideas for other themed sessions.
Given the significant increase in data that the BGS is now making available to teaching institutes, often using the latest technology for delivery, we are proposing a specific session on integration and implementation of BGS data into teaching. In addition to presentations from the BGS giving an overview of what is available, examples of practitioners using the data would be very welcome.
THE CLOSING DATE FOR ABSTRACTS IS FRIDAY 30th November
