Putting some observations together. Leif Jonsson identifies it as a
whale. Your suggestion that it might be mineralised looks reasonable -
and is supported by the colour. Your email address is a UK one.
Is the find thought to be from UK? If so, I would consider the
possibility of it coming from deposits associated with the Pleistocene
Red Crags of East Anglia.
