The patent for bounce back is absurd. Bounce back has been a feature in animations almost from the beginning. Rounded rectangles are the real invention. Apple had a team working on this idea for years. In their few spare moments, members used to make rude gestures to each other which was the origin of pinch and swipe.
It has been suggested that this team of 300 also came up with the idea of a grey fabric welcome screen for os10. Apparently one of them noticed Steve wore grey under pants. The screen background is a tribute to Steve.

A couple of interesting quotes from David K. Levine (one of the authors of -Against Intellectual Monopoly-, a book that's well worth reading) and an amusing conclusion:
"Apple later sued Microsoft, accusing it of stealing software to create Windows. Microsoft's Bill Gates' retort to Apple's Steve Jobs has become a classic: 'Steve, just because you broke into Xerox's house before I did and took the TV doesn't mean I can't go in later and take the stereo.'"
