I think I can sympathise with them - I would feel equally traumatised if I
were forced to listen to Classic FM all the time!
I think I would be inclined to bat this back to management - you are never
going to find one solution that suits all. They need to have a staff side
meeting and maybe agree a rota of agreed music stations!

Subject: [OCC-HEALTH] Stress caused by music played at work?
Hi All,
Does anyone have any information on potential adverse effects of music on
stress levels?
There have been some complaints about the type of music played in our
production
environment, particularly weekend night music, which some of our older
workers find
quite offensive, and which is reportedly causing an increase in stress
levels.
I want to point management in the direction of some current information
while they look
at how to manage this. (Radio headphones/ipods etc are not an option -
although I have
suggested ear plugs as a temporary option to one individual!).
Many thanks,
Roisin
