Doctoral student, Sound and Physical Interaction Research Group
.Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture invites applications for this job beginning in in fall 2012 and the duration is 1 year full time (with provision for a 1 year extension after evaluation). The position will remain open until it is filled.
Key Accountabilities and Qualifications
Sound and Physical Interaction (SOPI) research group at the Department of Media, Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture is looking for a doctoral student to work in a project funded by the Academy of Finland: The Notion of Participative and Enacting Sonic Interaction. The research aims to investigate and develop computational models for enactive engagement of users in participatory interactive music context, and a toolkit system implementation in mobile platforms. The doctoral student will be responsible for the research and implementation, as well as publishing the results in international peer-reviewed journals.
The doctoral student must have a Master's degree and possess a post-graduate study place in Aalto University or in any other equivalent University. The candidate also must have knowledge of digital sound synthesis methods & techniques and programming (especially in C, C++, Objective-C and Pure Data -libpd).

Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture, Helsinki, Finland.
Wage level
Salary will be paid according to the University's salary scheme.
