Hi Flora,
Design Studies Journal published a Special Issue on Design Thinking in November 2011 (Volume 32, Issue 6), which included a revisited version of the Kees Dorst paper cited by Peter, as well as a number of other papers on the subject.

Dear Flora,
Kees Dorst the following paper that specifically addresses the topic of
Design Thinking:
*Dorst, K. 2010, 'The Nature of Design Thinking', Design Thinking Research
Symposium, Faculty of Design, Architecture and Building, University of
Technology, Sydney, October 2010 in DTRS8 Interpreting Design Thinking:
Design Thinking Research Symposium Proceedings, ed Dorst, K., Stewart, S.,
Staudinger, I., Paton, B., Dong, A., DAB Documents, Sydney, Australia, pp.
131-139.*
Another interesting paper is one from Jon Kolko:
*Kolko, J. 2010, Abductive Thinking and Sensemaking: The Drivers of Design
Synthesis*
*Published in MIT's Design Issues, 26:1, Winter 2010.*
Hope that helps!
