medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
apologies for cross-posting
I have today posted to my online archive several new pages of photos.
The object most familiar to everyone will be the ninth-century "Talisman
de Charlemagne" in Reims:

The rest are objects in the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge. The easiest
way to access them will be via the Cambridge location page:

The new objects are
an Archaic Greek intaglio with a Roman magical inscription added on the
back,
a 4th c. gold ring inscribed "Fidem Constantino", one of those worn to
show allegiance to the emperor,
a carnelian cameo of an eagle from 12th c. Italy, and
a splendid banded agate cameo of Aurora driving a chariot from 13th c.
South Italy.
regards to all,
Genevra
