Hi
We had major problems with the GOLA based City and Guilds last year at this time and many of the problems you list sound familiar. (CG now use a different sotware package)
One of the main issues was the installation of Flash Player - if it's not fully installed the exams won't work properly and students will have problems typing in the text boxes - our IT Dept managed to resolve this.
I can send you a memo about the issues offline if you wish.
Regards
Lorna

Subject: Edexcel FS on-line exam problems
Hi All
Please can I have feedback from others using Edexcel for Functional Skills on-line exams and whether you have had any problems.
We ran a whole week of English exams in March with only a handful of issues reported to us at the time.
I have now had a major complaint from the Curriculum Manager and a request to lodge a complaint with Edxecel.
Apparantly many students are complaining that they had screens freezing, drag and drop not working, pages slow to load, timers playing up, both papers running at the same time (they sat reading and writing tests back to back), unresponsive to typing ie text taking time to come up etc etc.
All these complaints have come through a month after the exams ran and because they weren't raised at the time of the exam we haven't had an opportunioty to investiagte whether they are user error, problems with our systems or in fact problems with the Edxecel software.
I would appreciate reports of others experiences, please. All responses will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
