If this is an accident at work and they don’t keep him employed in some capacity then he can sue for loss of earnings. Isn't it better that they find him something to do. The insurers might have a view which could be useful

We have explored the possibility of alternative duties such as admin etc but this is not viable mainly due to eyesight problems. For stocktaking he would be required to use a scanner. There also appears to be literacy issues with this chap.
