many thanks, Jean Luc.
the Clouet drawing of Jean de La Barre
http://blog.pecia.fr/public/0_a_a_jlb.jpg
is quite striking, as are all his drawings
http://tinyurl.com/7nb9ern
i had seen some of them before, but never really *looked* at them.
and, i was interested to learn that "19 aout 1532 Jean de La Barre pose la
première pierre de l'église Saint-Eustache de Paris" --my favorite Parisian
building.
and, the "Italianate" style of le Maître de Rohan
http://blog.pecia.fr/public/0_a_a_h3.jpg
is always interesting, if only for its curious....awkwardness, straddling as
it does two worlds.
i take it that we are reading your own transcription of that page from the
"registres de la tour carrée"?
quite a feat, deciphering that early 16th c. "hen scratching."
i have found that i cannot do it, even when i have a printed transcription
next to the ms.
