This week I'm interviewing Mercedes Cebrián for "Nuevas referencias," my bilingual blog for librarians, book vendors and other bibliophiles. As usual, the text is in Spanish and English. Please join the blog and share your comments. Don't be shy. "Nuevas referencias" wants YOU!
I must admit that Mercedes Cebrián is one of my favorite new writers from Spain.
http://nuevasreferencias.blogspot.com/
Mercedes Cebrián performs various functions associated to language: she writes fiction, journalistic essays, poetry and translates mainly from English and French, and occasionally from Italian. Her writing has been published in newspapers such as “El País,” “La Vanguardia” and “Público”; and in journals or magazines such as “Diario de Poesía” (Buenos Aires), “Revista de Occidente” and “Marie Claire.” Her literary universe explores, among other aspects of reality, the emotional ties that human develop with objects. He has been a writing fellow at the Residencia de Estudiantes in Madrid and the Academia de España in Rome, and a writer in residence in Ledig House (Omi, New York) and the Civitella Ranieri Foundation (Italy). Presently she is writing a not-so-long novel, translating and is waiting to hear from a fellowship application.
La nueva taxidermia. Mondadori, 2011.
Cul-de-sac. Ediciones Alpha Decay, 2009.
Mercado Común: poemas. Caballo de Troya, 2006.
El malestar al alcance de todos. Caballo de Troya, 2004.
The question on libraries of the future has become one of the biggest attractions to the blog. Everyone has a different vision!
