Oxford Brookes University is currently inviting applications for AHRC studentships in Music at Masters and PhD level.
One award, funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council under the Professional Preparation Masters scheme, is available for our MA in Music. The MA offers four distinctive pathways:
· Music and Popular Culture
· Music on Stage and on Screen
· Contemporary Practice in Composition
· Music in 19th-Century Culture

Applications are also invited for a three-year fully funded doctoral award (full-time). We welcome applications from suitably qualified applicants who propose working in any of the research areas in which our staff specialise.
Music at Oxford Brookes provides a vibrant environment for research in historical musicology, popular music studies, composition and sonic art. The Research Assessment Exercise (RAE2008) identified world leading research in opera studies; popular music; and the interdisciplinary territory of sonic art.
