I have used some interesting case studies that are available from the Harvard Business Publishing. Although most cases are oriented for business, you will find other issues that are appropriate for design teaching (design management oriented though), both for graduate and undergraduate levels. Cases are provided with teaching notes, which can be adapted to your design curriculum.
You will have to create an account to access the site and the teaching notes. Cases can be printed but are copyrighted, so it is not possible to distribute among students, unless you have your institution pay for them.

Harvard Publishing has other good resources, even though the case study approach might in some instances be questionable.
