medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
3. January is also, in the Roman church's Roman Rite (but not in its Ambrosian Rite or in its Byzantine Rite, which latter continue to celebrate on 1. January its predecessor, the Feast of the Circumcision), the Feast of the Holy Name of Jesus, for which there is of course a corresponding entry in the RM. For some late medieval visuals of the Holy Name of Jesus, see no. 6 (Bernardino of Siena) at this earlier 'Saints of the day' for 20. May: <http://tinyurl.com/7v7vokx>.

John Dillon
