medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
I can't cite anything, but two sources that might have something in them (or at least in their bibliographies) are Brundage and McNamara.

medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Just a quick question: Does anyone happen to know (and can cite a
source) which mentions canon law and laybrothers, with regard to
whether they were constrained as choir monks were to remain men of
religion all their lives, or whether they were allowed to freely leave
the monastery at some time?
Thanks,
Nick
