As developers, I find that for the majority of our clients, text size
options are still needed. we do quite a lot of work with charities and
this is not a nice to have piece of functionality for their site
visitors. The level of users knowledge varies and especially if looking
to cater for everyone, those controls need to be there - there are a lot
of people who do not know about zoom. However, the tendency is to go
for an enormous top size, that is not really needed as people who are
that visually challenged will have machine readers. It is about what is
comfortable to the site visitor and making that accessible, and we all
know that browsers vary somewhat in that regard!
