Hello Anna,

I am fairly new to Millennium myself, so you may prefer to wait for others to reply. But my impression is that how records are exported from Millennium can vary a lot from system to system, depending on how it has been set up by Innovative. I imagine there is a default way that Innovative tend to set things up, but it can quite easily be changed (by Innovative) to suit your needs. I think the things that control this are called export profiles.

For example, in our system, if you export MARC records using Data Exchange, we have a button labelled "Create C" which is described as "Create disk file of unblocked MARC records". If I export a record using this, we get several extra fields in the 900s which are generated on export and are not there when you edit the record in the cataloguing module:

907
a = bib number
b = update date of record
c = cat date of record

998 (mainly fixed fields from bib record)
a = bib location
b = cat date
c = ??not sure
d = material type
e = BCODE3
f = language
g = country
h = skip
i = ??not sure

945 (item data)
a = call number (c field from item)
c = volume number (v field from item)
g = ??not sure
i = barcode (b field from item)
l = location
o = status or missing (not sure which)
p = price
q = ??not sure
r = loan type or itype (not sure which)
s = status or missing (not sure which)
t = loan type or itype (not sure which)
u, v, w, x = ??not sure
y = item number (e.g. i20076964)
z = item created date

In our case, if we have several items attached to a bib record, we get several 945 fields, and each has the call number in subfield "a".

It looks to me as though you need to raise this with Innovative.

Regards,

Matthew
