Hello everybody,
I would like to draw your attention on the upcoming 2 days short course
on 'Geologic trapping of buoyant fluids: the role of structural geology
' at our institute on the 20th-21st of February 2012. The course is held
by Peter Vrolijk (and Franco Corona, not confirmed yet) from Exxon
Mobil. It's free for Master-students, PhD-students & Post Docs. More

2 Day Short course
Title: Geologic trapping of buoyant fluids: the role of structural geology
Who?
Peter Vrolijk & Franco Corona, Exxon Mobil Upstream Research
When? 20 - 21 February 2012
Where?
RWTH Aachen University, Structural Geology - Tectonics -
Geomechanics
Room 408
Lochnerstraße 4-20 Haus a
52056 Aachen, Germany
Description:
Trapping of oil, gas, and other buoyant fluids requires a geologic
container that is often formed through structural processes. Moreover,
structural geologists are particularly adept at conceptualizing the
complex 3D structures that often develop. In this course we will focus
on the critical elements necessary for trapping fluids in the subsurface
and will emphasize the variety of geometric elements and the techniques
to evaluate those geometries with common subsurface data types.
