Hi Sally
I treat as a normal access arrangements. We need some proof they need them, slow handwriting speed, illegible handwriting, etc. They are 'tested' by the Special Needs Department and if the recommendation is a WP it is granted. Will not give willy nilly as then all want one as they are all au fait with the computer.
The one I am getting more of lately is Word Processor with spell check enabled instead of a scribe.
Kind regards
Marjanne

Hi everyone
I would like some guidance as to how you manage applications for students who request a computer for their GCSE/AS/A2 level exams, do you assess them as needing them or do you only give them one if you have the resources or do you only give them a computer if this is their normal way of working? Do you have any deadlines for applications for these and after that deadline this will not be actioned??
I would be very interested in your response because we are having a debate at the College on this at the moment
Cheers
Sally
