Colleagues, a call for papers is shortly closing for the forthcoming
conference "Anthropology in the World", jointly auspiced by the Royal
Anthropological Society and the British Museum Centre for Anthropology.
The stated aim of the conference is to "explore the manifold ways in
which anthropology in its widest sense has been influential outside
academia". General information about the conference can be found on the
RAI website, at:
http://www.therai.org.uk/conferences/anthropology-in-the-world/
We are seeking papers addressing the conference aim: to "explore the
manifold ways in which anthropology in its widest sense has been
influential outside academia". We are looking for papers addressing
questions raised by the diverse audiences which anthropology has, or
perhaps should have. The proposed panel session is "Anthropology in, and
about, the world: Issues of audiences, modes of communication, contexts,
and engagements".
Papers might deal with perceptions of anthropology in popular culture,
government, industry, the courts, NGOs or a host of related settings.
If you have interest in submitting a paper for this panel, it would need
to be done through the conference online lodgement system, at the
following website:
http://www.nomadit.co.uk/rai/events/rai2012/panels.php5?PanelID=1422
The call for papers closes on 16 January 2012.
Please circulate to others who may potentially have interest in this
panel.
Sincerely,
David Trigger & David Martin
