We have been caught out by suppliers/vendors/integrators not supporting classless networking; therefore assuming everything is on a /24 netblock. We have therefore put together some procurement advice to make things like this a condition of the OJEU tender etc.

The small embedded controllers in these things can be so variable, from a configurable BusyBox Linux embedded system through to a DOS based PC controller.
