That is very interesting and Lisa and I will certainly take a look.
As you know, of course, the service design people have been working with the NHS for a while now, and the public health sector in particular has been way out front on matters of evidence-based practice (compared to transportation, peace and security, development, etc.).
As The Policy Lab and UNIDIR are now leading the UN's efforts on evidence-based programme design for the reintegration of ex-combatants after wars and conflicts, there is a lot to consider here about A) designing services for people and the communities of which they are a part, B) determining whether those designs are well grounded in, and theoretically informed by evidence and C) developing the necessary (locally appropriate) indicators for measuring both impact and effect.
We are especially concerned with design that is grounded on evidence and strategically oriented (towards goals). Hence our use of the term, strategic design.
